Marlon Brando, Al Pachino, Paul Newman, Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Hopper, Robert DeNiro, Marilyn Monroe, and Meryl Streep - these are only a few of the many actors trained in "Method" acting by the great Lee Strasberg. This revolutionary theory of acting - developed by Stanislavsky and continued by Strasberg- has been a major influence on the art of acting in our time.
"AN EXPLORATION OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS THAT WILL REWARD ALL WHO ARE INTERESTED IN THE NATURE OF INSPIRATION."
So can method acting affectivly be used on the stage, in musicals, on film, TV, during song, and even dance?
The answer is yes, it can! Method acting deals with, first, unlocking one's self, which means by understanding who we are and habitually how we think, react, move and even sitting still we are able to relax and utilise all movement and reaction to our advantage.
A violinist understands fingering and bowing action of his instrument, a pilot understands what corrodinates he has to enter in order to reach his, and all his passangers destination, and an actor should know the need of his character and how best to effectivly apply himself to reveal that need during the scene, song, and even dance. All of this can be taught and it's surprising how little is understood by teachers and professionals. 80% of academy award winners over the last 20 years are method actors, an astonising percentage which can not be ignored.
